A little story about one of our families,
Vale Don Grundel played for many years and worked in the Bar with his daughter Anne Lucas and with Pat Ashley. Son, Mark Grundel also worked in our busy Clubhouse back in the day and is now playing Golf each week with his wife Margie. Margie is relatively new to Golf and now play’s weekly in the women’s comp and beyond. Clinton Grundel and Alexandra Smitham nee Lucas are the next generation both pennant quality golfers.

Colleen & Geoff Smitham , son Todd previous Club Champion also have a place in this tale.
With Grandchildren from the Lucas, Grundel, Smitham, Ashley, Peucker and Maddern Families now all Junior Lakers.

But wait there is one more to come – Baby Jed Smitham, you might see him with his mum or dad enjoying the sights and sound of our club.

How the Landscape has changed from a Swamp land and Scrapes for Greens to the Pristine Course we all enjoy today.
Sadly we have lost some of our members over the past years lowering our Flag to half mast in respect.

The future is looking bright with our new Generation of members growing stronger and enjoying the course and a great social atmosphere that only your own Golf Club provides. Mr Peter Hardy, Mr John Christison, Mr Brian Anderson, Mr Bruce Heaft and Mrs Irene Thorn all Life members still playing today.

With New members each month – Singles, Couples, Juniors and Groups alike are starting their golfing life with us!!!
A Rich history of community and friendship still honors us today making us the best in the West.
