WEST LAKES GOLF CLUB PARTNERS WITH BENDIGO BANK

Posted on: 21 November

West Lakes Golf Club is pleased to announce their partnership of the Junior Development Program with the West Beach Community Branch of Bendigo Bank.

The West Beach & Districts Community Grants program is aimed at supporting events, projects, initiatives and activities which offer clear public benefit for local communities.

Over recent years, West Lakes Golf Club has realised the importance of focussing on developing golfers from a grass roots level and  growing the Junior Golf Development Program; a large part of the future of the Club. Since its inception in 2012, the Junior Golf Development Program has grown to 40 Junior Members.

Fast becoming a leader in the development of Junior Golfers for South Australia, West Lakes Golf Club has developed a number of programs to introduce juniors into golf. The Club’s on-site professionals lead these programs which promote learning in a fun and safe environment so all juniors can enjoy their golfing experience.

Announced at the community grants night for Bendigo Bank on Tuesday 17 November, West Lakes Golf Club General Manager, Paul Curtis believes the future of the development program looks bright,

“Regular fundraisers for the Junior Development program have allowed us to raise much needed funds to put towards the program.”

“This has enabled us to develop the program to where it has gotten to today. With a lack of significant funding available from the golf club itself to put towards the program it is often difficult to be able to provide the Club’s Junior Golfers with the equipment they need to further develop their skills on the golf course.’

“With the West Beach Community Branches support, West Lakes Golf Club are able to invest in getting equipment for Juniors to further develop their skills including equipment like target poles, target hoops, cones, clubs, agility ladders, resistant bands, clubs, foam rollers and golf balls as well as uniforms for the program.” He said.

The West Lakes Golf Club Juniors can start playing as young as seven in the Cadets program and are allowed to play on the course from ten years old. For more information about the Junior Development Program and how you can get your child involved, please click here.
